I'm having a lot of problems with the lifts. I can only manage to get on a lift 60% of the time. I have tried walk, sprinting, jumping etc but many times the lift starts of without me.
Is any one else having this problem Question

I have had the same thing but not all the time it seems to be at the same time I am trying to pick up barrels and things that are not really there ( only I can see them).

try Jumping on them Earlyer than you Jump Normaly, or Duckjump... helped Me ^^

weird, I never had such a problem. I just bhop on them or just walk on them. they just dont work so well with physics, pretty often they just go down immediately when you reach the top with a physic. is there are solution to this?

With physics its even worse for me, the amount of times the prop goes up with the lift leaving me empty handed. This mainly happens on server 1

it can happen to me sometimes. but it is usually with physics. with my luck the barrel i have explodes on contact with the lift and i go flying into oblivion Rolling Eyes now that happens a lot Shocked

the problem is 2 things

1 your update rate is too low
cl_updaterate 20 is default

try 25

the other problem. . is the lifts are crap on killbox_BS_v3b and really should be improved.

do you have this prob on domebox?

only time i have a problem with lifts is when theres an object underneath it, the lift don't work, the object gets stuck, and when you do try going on it my movement turns my nice nimble Nike Air B-Hopping trainers turn to Lead bricks xD

That is probably the one bug int this game that annoys me the most.I've lost count of the amount of times I've died while trying to pick up a barrel , only for it to be stuck..

and if you put your update rate up on a bad server you will have more choke than you did b4. Much of the problems depend on what the server is set to.
RAVAGE and I spent some time experimenting with server rates and client rates ,also we have spoken to a friend who really understands how the rates work and put into practice his recommendations on our servers and found that choke and loss are much less when the server settings are very near standard and all the client's rates are set to the same.
The only thing we have done is set our server rate slightly higher than standard to allow all player a slightly higher badwidth. everything else all is as valve set it at.

I avoid the lift problems by jumping on to them and I almost always jump off the lift b4 it gets to the top even when I have a barrel or some other object in my gg gun. Only other thing i do is look up as I jump off and as i jump on so that the physic doesn't get knocked out of the gg gun.

As for the barrels stuck to the floor ... It is not that they are stuck it that they are not actually there at all . Rav and I have proved this on several occasions .
I can say to rav is there a barrel in front of me and shoot at the spot where it looks to be and he will say NOPE it over here and be looking at a place 10 feet away .
GHOST PHYSICS are caused by other players that have choke picking up the object you are looking at b4 you see it and go for it .
For some reason the choke that that player has makes the object look like it is still where It was b4 the player who had choke grabbed it.

I noticed the ghosting physics a lot early this year, I would try to grab something with my grav gun, it wouldn't do it and after you find out your dealing with a ghost physic just leave it, just don't let go of the secondary fire on your grav gun until you have to.

The physic should be near you and once you find it, it will be invisible to you, you'll notice the ghost physic come floating to your grav gun from anywhere on the map, because you just found where it really was, it's a strange sight especially when it floats across the entire map.

Something I have done to my settings lately has stopped it completely, it hasn't happened since winter time here, but before it would happen frequently.
