Subject description: Source SDK Help

Well, I wanna get back into Mapping, however with my New computer, it doesn't want to work (Come to think of it, it didn't work on my old computer until I did something but can't remember what). Anyway......

1 - Ive Installed the Source SDK off Steam
2 - I click the Icon within Steam to launch the SDK
3 - The Dialogue box comes up (Like all games just about to load) saying Preparing to launch SDK Source...
4 - Thats it, nothing happens, it disappears, and that Box with the different apps (Hammer, Face Modeller, etc) just doesn't show up

Ive checked my Task Manager, nothing running apart from the norm. Ive had a look on the Steam Forums, can't find any mention of it there.

I'm thinking the Install could be messed up, Im reinstalling it as I type, any other people heard of this problem happening? Thanks!

yeah - there's something else you have to do. I vaguely remember having to do some wird things.... but I forget. Don't reinstall - one of the mapping lads will know

I have no idea. and from what diet said.. you don't have to do that weird thing anymore because they updated the SDK last week so you can pick between the orangebox engine and the ep1 now.

.. get rid of any launch options?!

There were no Launch options set.

Anyway after a Delete and Re-install it seems to work now, must of just been a corrupted install or something, had it happen with HL2 once (models missing such as railings etc).

Thanks for comments, feel free to lock this topic.
