Connection problem |
|
Hi everybody,
I use a different connection than your, it's a new system (for me, in my countrie).
A link for more explain:
http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wirelessinternet/g/bldef_wimax.htm
But I have a problem.
When i play in the TSGK's Servers, my ping is 110-120 ms high, my best ping in others Servers, is 50. Why the TSGK's Serveurs!
I don't know why, and i don't know if there is really a solution, so I need your help for me to reach a better latency if possible.
Thanks to them who will try to help me.

Do a trace route and post the result here.
Start > Run > cmd
tracert SERVERIP

Here you go.
First, between the HOP #5 and #6 you have a difference of 74 ms in one shot, and secondary to reach London, UK you pass via NY, USA... the best part of it is that at the HOP #7 you'r at London and then you get rerouted to NY to finaly come back to london... Very bad route.
No wonder you get such a ping.
There is nothing to do execpt the change ISP with a one that own lot of peer connections.
Here is my route to the same server:
Code: |
Tracing route to 212.187.246.45 over a maximum of 30 hops
1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.254
2 8 ms 7 ms 6 ms 82.239.217.254
3 8 ms 7 ms 7 ms montpellier-6k-1-a5.routers.proxad.net [213.228.12.62]

Thanks Osiris_TSGK. |
Apparently there is a 26 ms of latency just because WiMax technologie, as you can see at HOP #2 and for some reason there is very big latency on the route at Paris, probably an overflowded router.

Nothing, but if it is an overflowded router that cause the 74 ms of latency in Paris maybe they will upgrade it (not sure), in that case you will gain 20 to 40 ms.
Try some NY servers since you pass via NY when you connect to UK server at least you will not do twice the route UK - NY, your latency maybe better on a US server then...

not too difficult if they really want to... call them, email them..... hel go knock on their door if they are local.... what I mean is if you make a nuisance of yourself, in a nice way of course... dont be nasty, as a paying customer they will either ignore you.. in which case you re no worse off, or they will sort it out, in ehich case, w00t!

It's important to give them the tracecert. That's a crazy route. Is it always like that? It can also be useful to see if there are any local forums discussing problems about the isp provider as this might give you some insight on how to approach them. Good luck.

Your ISP routes all the traffic at the destination of Level 3 Network to NY, what ever UK, Germany or Amsterdam, everything is passing via NY.
It is pretty common, most of the ISP who don't mind doing a smart route just trow all the traffic to the biggest peer of a major Network, in your case, it is NY for Level 3, a shame, Level 3 is probably one of the largest intercontinental network of the world with many peers in europe including a very large one in Paris, there is nothing you can do, considering the complete lack of care of your ISP for routing even when peers are presents, they do have no excuse for not providing a clean route execpt to be too lazy to update the route table on their routers.
Who is that ISP?

My ISP is Wizeo.
What is exactly the consequent of "update the route table on their routers" for my connection, a better ping?
How i can explain really the problem at my ISP?

Yes, your latency will be divided by 1.5 - 2 at least.
You send them the IP of the UK server for example and tell them that you pass via NY to reach it, which has no sens, plus more no sens you do pass via London first then go to NY and come back to London.
Send them the tracert result, but execpt nothing, they will not update the route at least you will have let them know.
Here is the route you take to reach the TSGK Serv I and at the second picture is the route that you should take.
