Something that has puzzled me |
|
TSGK has a great site, an awesome array of servers, good admin, and some of the most interesting and sardonic folks around. So, i wonder why TSGK keeps one important thing a secret (or so it seems): TSGK has some of the most kickass HL2DM players around!.
I always wonder why TSGK does not field a CAL team?!?!
I understand the TSGK canon, but why not field a team in this type of mainstream league?
Is it Ping?
RPG?
Just asking.
I think it would be good for the greater HL2DM community.

0% of interest for that kind of gameplay.

It doesn't correspond to the TSGK spirit.

Don't know what those are.
Its just puzzling that there isn't at least 4 TSGK folks who would like to play in CAL or even a couple of two man teams for 2 on 2.
You have some great players who could make a run at winning and have some fun in the meantime.
TSGK IS a gaming clan, right??!?!

CAL participation was discussed quite some time ago here, and I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments presented in that thread:
http://forum.tsgk.com/viewtopic.php?search_id=21798305&t=456
However, both myself and GhostDog are on a CAL 2v2 team (I'm the alt for our team), but we don't represent TSGK in any way, shape, or form. Our participation is our decision alone, and is in no way affiliated with TSGK and never will be.

I still don't get it. CAL is not for money. CAL is clan competition for fun and is the essence of gaming.
CAL is vanilla DM nothing weird added or taken out.
It includes all the weapons included in HL2DM.
CAL has some of the best US players out there playing each other.
So why does TSGK issue a league like CAL or any other?
Is TSGK just a social club?
If it is, good for you.
Its your thing.
I just don't understand.
What is the point of running around playing DM in a Killbox?
Surely that gets old.
What about playing together as clan mates in competitions?
Playing the best there is?
I have said too much already, forgive me.
TSGK is fine the way it is.

We do play clan matches. We are involved in a league (FFL). We don't just play in killboxes. But we do love killboxes. I've been playing on the same killbox for nearly 2 years. Still FUN!! I'm not out to prove that I'm better than anyone else (although deep deep down I suspect I am the most beautiful) or that my teflon coated mouse pad gives me 0.0005 improvement in response times etc. The link explains our feelings on CAL. Some of our members are subs. A ZX81 is an old home computer.
God I hate Mondays. Let's rename them.

Mine was a self build UK 101 which was based on the Supermicro 2.
Here is the spec and a little about the machine ~
http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=802
If you read on past the main section you will see that the static ram for the machine cost about £10 per k. Without inflation that would make a 1gig stick of ram cost £10,000,000

Great thread! Mine was a TI-99/4A, the first home computer with a 16bit processor (TMS9900). 16K graphics memory.... I'll never forget the moment when i managed to attach it to the TV and it said "READY - PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE"... finally a hacker! Ah, those were the times...
Good site there, Zog:

Silly one, everybody knows that Vista comes only on good ole floppy discs (for either the 1541 or the advanced 1571 model). So just add ",8,1" to your loading statement and wooosh... Directx10 on your C64

Is that a 2.5 to 4 mhz gear shift on the right?
It even comes with an 8 track tape player for those old Conway Twitty moments!
