exploring maps and recording
So here's the problem. Sometimes I play on other servers that have very big maps with loads of secrets etc. I don't get a chance to explore them as I keep getting whacked.
Anyone know if it's possible to to open the map offline (from where it's stored on my hard drive). That way I could explore at my leisure.
The second question I have is if it is possible to record yourself in hl2dm. Basically, I'd like to record myself from a third person perspective - to see if certain moves etc are effective.
Thank you very much you're all lovely people - ugly, but lovely. _________________

Hi diet i don't know for the first question but for the second it's possible to record a fight just type in ur console record and the name of u want give(for example:record diet fight)
For stop the record type:stop record
After for see ur fight just type play demo and the name of the file(for example:playdemo diet fight)
During the demo u can press shift+F2 for options
But i don 't think that u can record yourself from a third person perspective but perhaps u can ask at someone who record u in spectate mode
i hope this help u

this is very simple, under search for servers there is a point called create server, select the map and options. then press start. you can explore it with spectace in console or sv_cheats 1 and noclip in console. spectate is also available in any server.
