Last night, several of the [S-UK] clan and friends received a message from someone claiming to be Steam "AutomatedMessageSystem"

This person DOES NOT REPRESENT STEAM OR VALVE IN ANY WAY.

They are scamming and stealing account details, changing the passwords/contact details...... then probably selling them on via ebay or some other method.

Valve states on the support page that it will NEVER make any contact through the friends network, so DO NOT BE FOOLED.

If this individual contacts you, keep the friends window open, copy his community ID link, then report it to Valve through the steam support system.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE HIM ANY INFORMATION.

Meh if anyone has half a brain they can work out forr themselves not to accept an invite from someone nobody's knows. Steam are the dumb ones for not hiring someone to take them out, and when the shit hits the fan and steam accounts get taken . Steam probably won't supply you with a new one , which they should. ( Which could emply there is actually no uber hacker muha on there. )
Sometimes dont believe everything someone tells you. ( Especially Steam ) But thanks for the headsup.

Good news people, steam support has KICKED ASS!!

Less then 24 hours after submitting an incident report of the scam, the account has been returned to it's original owner.

Much respect to Valve ... job well done!!
