I'm New and Love HL2 Subject description: Just saying hello to this nice-looking community. |

Hey, all!
My name is Tom and I was feeling kind of depressed after I beat all the games in the Orange Box a few days ago. I was looking for more Half-Life 2 games to play but my Video Card really stinks. Luckily, though, I was able to gain access to one of the other computers in my home that aren't mine. It has a kick-butt video card and a lot of other great features which make a lag-free environment for playing Half-Life 2 games. So, once I got onto this other computer, I decided to look into Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. I wanted to play on a dm_lockdown map server, and I saw that TSGK had a lot of people in it and it was playing on dm_lockdown. So, I came in and gave it a try. I loved it! A lot of great players were on the server and it was a lot of fun. I love your server!
Not to brag, but I kick butt, myself. And, I enjoyed the gaming environment of TSGK's server. It fit my needs. So, I know you all probably don't care about that, but I am glad to have discovered this server and I will become a regular on it now. When I saw that TSGK had a website, I figured they'd have a forum so I came on and joined. And, I love phpBB forums which was kind of like a plus for me to join this forum.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I look forward to many more great times on the server and the forums.

Well, I'm not amazing, but I'm pretty good. I usually end up in the top 3 places overall at the end of each round. So, I guess that's pretty good. Plus, I go on some pretty big killing streaks and I'm good with certain weapons. Ah, I just like having fun on the server.

The Half-Life 2 games are just so ultimate that, once you beat them and indulge yourself in the great storyline, you get depressed because you kinda want more of the storyline right then and there. I like playing online with other people because it makes me feel less depressed to play with other HL2 gamers when I want to see what happens in the next HL2 game to come.
I'm glad someone shares my feelings on that.

Welcome to HL2DM Lockdown is a great map, but do try others too, Killboxes are very different and it's often good to experience something new.

OMG....sorry dude. Yeah, I'm pretty embarrassed.
If you're talking about the computer that wasn't mine but I was allowed to use until I get a new video card, that machine has an ATI card. I'm not sure of the specs though. My piece-of-crap video card in my computer is an AGP and my motherboard is an AGP which sucks. Now I have to get an AGP video card which aren't as powerful as ATI.
Oh, and I don't know where server 1 is, but I'll check it out and I'll probably find it.

AGP still has some fire on it
the most powerful AGP card in the world is an ATI card, it beats the 7 series, everyone of them except the GX2

The best place to be in server I where you get the most kills are on the top platform near the charger and standing proudly on the two platforms with ladder just below the top level.
To survive server I here's a good guide written by one of our exspects - DietH2O also with extra tips from other good players

Server I is really that brutal, eh? Ah, maybe I'll stay out of it then. I don't fare well when people flame me and tell me I suck.
And, DrBreen, what video card would you suggest for an AGP motherboard if I want to do some very high-quality, hardcore HL2 gaming on it?

I cut me gaming teeth in the regulation maps and only started playing Boxes when TSGK set up a League.
I have to say they are great manic fast paced fun and require a totally different style of play to the regulation maps.
Variety is the spice of life as they say. Personally I love Server 1.. you are always guaranteed a damn good fast paced fight.

Also check out KC server 1 IP: 217.163.30.227:27015
To me it's the best killbox map out there.
Fast gameplay and very good frames per sec.
