before this steam community update one could press "player list" and get people´s steam names so you could know who they are and then add them to your friends list. but not its not there anymore.

so the question is: how do I find out that "randomname" in-game is "usualname" in steam? for example I play on a server and my name would be ???, how do you find out I´m Lawitz even if you dont have me on your friends list? and how would you add someone to the friends list that is playing in your current game?

Go to the Overlay UI and Press PLayers Button.
But its a little confuzing aswell Sad

too bad I can´t get the overlayui to work. it very rarely starts. but still with it I only see the steam name of the people I played with lately. but no info on the in-game alias. so you see Lawitz_TSGK but which one is he:, ???, XYZ,unknown or Ilovestick?

Extract the most important player ID´s from the HLstatsX page into word or excel, print the list out and check it manually with help of your list if needed.

Its actually the only save way as far I know.
