Steam chat doesn't work |
|
Hi, here is my new problem :
While the community beta test of Steam which has worked normaly for a while, I wasn't able to see my friend list in game, so I also wasn't able to read / send messages.
I had deleted it, waiting for a final release supposed to works.
Today I'm forced to update the Steam client, and I have the same problem.
All the part "in-game" is configured as it should be.
So if any one of you knows how to fix it, I'm listening, thanks.

I can send and receive messages and see friends ingame with tab+shift. but for some reason the game minimizes when someone writes the first message to me. after that I can open the game again, see that I died, and write in-game.

I've set it to "home" but it doesn't work. Same with all other key.

Chat works fine on moodle. I guess that's a Windows server.

I don't speak about in game chat box, but about the Steam Community Chat. There's nothing about Windows or Linux server at this time.

Yeah windows servers work properly. It's becoming more and more clear to me that there are more problems with linux servers which valve may never fix.

I've finally found the issue. It was Kaspersky's fault, so if some of you still can't chat in game and use Kaspersky, just enable Compatibilty mode for programs using self protection methods then restart the computer.
Thanks for them who tried to help me.
I can now chat again
