dm_lockdown in server XXV |
|
I just tried to get into server XXV and lockdown was the map at the time. Strangely, it said that my version differs from the version on the server. Was anything altered to the map or is this steam oddly sticking it to me.

if this happens again and again try deleting dm_lockdown from your maps folder and then next time you join a server it will redownload.

ya but thats the thing. I dont want to delete the regular version if this one is different cause then Ill have to delete it again when I try to play lockdown on any other server. If there isnt anything different about the map then thats great, Ill just delete my version. But, if you guys altered it, you should change the name of the map. More or less, just curious. I didnt have any issues playing in this server last night and I didnt hit any other servers after it so my version should be the same.

No comment, should we considere that as an insult or a joke?

lol neither really. Being a server admin myself, Ive altered plenty of maps with entity editors and you dont have to change the name of the map. I thought maybe someone made a simple mistake. Dont take it the wrong way, Im just wondering why its saying my map differs is all.

The map has, obviously, not been altered at all.

As a retail map, this map souldn't appear inside your HL2mp Maps folder.
If you see this map inside your HL2mp maps folder, delete it.

Ya i know, they are in the .gcf files. Thats why I was confused about the whole situation. I did notice a .res file in my maps folder. Not sure where it came from but I've deleted it. Perhaps it was the culprit.

hmm, same thing. Any other ideas? As Im out of them now. Gonna delete clientregistry.blob and reupdate. Im sure it has nothing to do with this but I am out of ideas lol.
edit: nope. After testing other servers its certainly my end. Ok, so anyone else ever had this problem with a valve map?
Ok, when Im in the hl2 deathmatch.gcf and I try to validate dm_lockdown it says its corrupt. Anyone know how to go about deleting this file? I would hate to have to redownload hl2:dm just for 1 map but being that it is the best dm map there is, I may have to.
edit: Fixed. Its good to keep a backup of your half-life 2 deathmatch.gcf lol
