PostPosted: Thu Apr 19, 2007 15:52    Post subject:  playing with 2 mice?

my g5 has a a bit broken scrollwheel (noisy) so I ordered a new one which came today. so now I have this mouse 2 times. I plugged them both in and realized I could set them at individual dpi settings. since ingame dpi changing is not possible with the buttons easily how about changing mice while playing for example to get a better aim with the 357 or xbow. what do you think about it? Iīll try it out now in a game before I send the broken one back.

edit: bad idea, its very inpracticable and the second g5 wouldnīt live long as it falls down. I just wanted to always try this out Razz

Lawitz to change in game dpi. go to set point and uncheck game detection. you will be able to change dpi. Hl2 and setpoint conflict with one another which makes a big mess out of it. Try it i assure you it will work Very Happy

btw how is the new G5 looks very sexy,I am happy they put the second button back on... I will wait till the two button G7 comes out and get one... the wire on the G5 is really annoying... it's very stiff... and impedes movement... anyways try it and tell me if it works Very Happy

You must have spoken with eXs| tvvladimir. He came over with exactly the same idea on our Forum some days ago and got the same answer from me. I also have 2 mice (both plugged in) but keybinds are faster and more comfortable for sure.

Just try:

bind "key1" "sensitivity 1.000000" <-- low for sniping
bind "key2" "sensitivity 3.000000" <-- high for normal playing

or whatever setting fits your taste.

I dont feel the need to change the sensitivity ingame. Personally i dont use it, i'm really happy to see that i can play good with these two fucked up mouses on a fucked up mouse pad Smile Cool . I only pay for 8€ each of these mouses Cool (one is optical and one works with a ball Embarassed Razz )

Yeah using the ball mouse may not be glorious, especially when you have to clean it in mid game.

But it is vintage!
One of these days I'll break mine and go buy a razor.

A hobo with a razor, what's this world coming to?

that's impressive
nade maeggs reccommended me a razer (not razor) and the single time I play without it I get owned (also because most of my weapons and tricks are bound to the 6 mouse buttons :p
