PENDING RETIRMENT |
|
hi all tsgk and other clan members and all friends i have made along the way,
after a lot of thought and delliberation i have decided to retire from playing hldm and from my clan DmK, why am i posting on here you might ask ?
when i first started playing it was my hope to join the TSGK clan as your rules for playing and conduct during play appealled to me as the proper way of playing the game so i applied to join, your leader Orisis gave me the oppertunity so a 1v1 was set up to play him but back in them days i didnt know how to use an ip address and couldnt make it into the box, Orisis being the nice chap that he is gave me a second chance and again i muffed it up................this is my one regret playing hldm is not knowing if i would have made it into your clan
still never mind, along came scottish warrior and gave me a trial for DmK , for wich i am eternally gratefull as being a member of a clan gives the game some meaning and direction and a set of rules to play by.
so thank you all TSGK members i'v encounterd along the way as it is allways a pleasure to play you guys as you know where you stand with your clan (usually on the floor with a stun stick in your head )
and all other clan members who frequent this forum i'v met along the way,
i'v set the date for retiring on my next birthday 21/06/ 2007 when i will reach the tender age of 56, i would like to think that i was the bestist oldest player thats been arround but in the words of your leader Orisis WHO CARES, and a nicer more level headed man you would ever like to meet.
so i hope to meet a few of you before that date in the game and if we do, be gentle with me

Hi
Don't know if we have met. Reading your post my first thought was thats a bit drastic or final.
My father has been a member of a local club for years and rather than retire/leave he could become an honuary member or member at large. Thus he's invited to there social events etc. Just an idea, so when you fancy the odd game you may still have the right to use the clans name you have supported and been supported by.
If not good luck with your new hobby..........

Retiring at 56
I only just started HL2 death match last December and I am 55!! You are only six months older than me!!!
I don't know what I would do without hl2 on darks Shetland winter nights. I am not ready for the pipe and slippers yet and mind numbing diet of tv soaps.
I'm sure you will miss the banter.
Perhaps there should be a server for the over 50's where thing are just a little slower

I have seen some servers for older people who are 50+. one was called "Rentnerserver" (Rentner is german for retired person) if I remember right. they also had 50+ in the server name.

Aw ta, but don't write me off Lawitz. I am not about to give up playing with da good guys yet. I too will make 200k if I live long enough. I reckon at 1.22 kill per min. it will take me just abut until I am 60
You are never too old to learn. When you get younger players swearing at you and accusing of all sots of wicked crimes such as camping and using smg 's !!!! if I could just stay sober enough to get a few days playing together.
I live in the bunker on server 1. I will make it my killing field - sticks crow bars and all. I do not camp, enter all ye who dare
It's aa a fun.

hi all, its nearly time to stop playing and thank you all for your kind words on this forum but i feel i ought to reply to some of your comments.
sniperborg.
not drastic or final....i run a bussiness and because of the addictive nature of this game i am finding that im ignoring what im supposed to be doing and............well you know the rest, so its cold turkey time.
rafadagaffer,
and may i say the same to you, enjoyed every game you were involved in and you know where you stand with you, a VERY nice player and a good man.
shimmy,
i allways thought my name was a bit effeminate (girly like) i player even tried chatting me up and it was an honour to play in any map with you.
diet h20,
what a gentleman, the pleasure was mine
stoned cabbage,
if they release hl3 ill buy it
half life half bisc,
great battles with you in the past, miss you.

beermonster,
one of the first players i came across and what a lesson i recieved, many a good fight since, loooooved it.
Osiris, spelt it correctley this time, you are a well respected leader and you have a lot of good players in your fold that play the game in a gentlemanly and propper manner, a leading light on how to play hldm in the correct way, long may you rieng sir..........

Hi Fluffy
I also run my own business, but its a matter of balance, too much attention to one and the other suffers.
This game is very additive and its easy to just play the odd 1 game in your break. But the other side is to much work, you may have enough money, but your family never sees you and you'll be come a very dull person outside of work. You may even die young and what have you achieved, you can't take it with you. Enjoy life. Get the balance right an you will enjoy work and enjoy YOUR personal time. (steps off soap box)
