Naive question maybe...

I have two ISPs. The first uses a router to connect point to point with ISP. My computer connect wirlessly to router. It was crap, but it is the ISP provider for my wife's company so we got it for free. It got so erratic that I got in another provider, privately. It's a cable connection via modem and ethernet card. It was great until a month ago and is now slow to good.

If I turn on both connections can I connect to steam using them both at same time, i.e. can I double up my bandwidth? Confused

Its generally not a good idea to connect to two connections at the same time, you can try but its never worked well for me at all. Call the cable ISP, they probably dont have enough bandwidth to go around to all their customers, see if you can get more bandwidth dedicated to you. You can always manually plug in a cat5 into your wireless router to make it wired as well.

Yes it is possible to use 2 ISP with a dual broadband router.
Actually it will not double your speed, but balance the traffic load on both connections depeding the current traffic on each.
Concerning steam, depending the dual broadband router, you will not access it with 2 differents connections for 1 session, because each ISP will assign a different IP and then you will lost your authentification on the Steam Master server if that happend.

Nevermind - at least I can use the old connection as a back-up. Worked good last night.

Funny how I never thought of that before. Embarassed
