Got it to the basics in 20 mins

Press Alt and F4 together - displays traditional style shut down menu.

Alternativley, create a desktop shortcut ~
Right click on a blank part of the desktop
Chose NEW then SHORTCUT and type shut...

I have not tried this because I do not have issues with the W8 interface.
However for those that do, a free program called Classic Shell is avaliable.

I had to go to the global server list, refresh it and the add the servers I wanted back into my favorites list via right click.

The navidia TI range have an overclocking pedigeree. I ran mine up to 930 and chickened out, its a new card and it is not needed at the moment. It ran stable at 56C. so I recon it will do the 950.

The 560TI is just about the only sensible choice in the price range.
I bought one to replace a dead BFG factory overclocked 9800.
I plumped for the Gigabyte version ~
